RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a great way of keeping up to date with your favourite websites. Rather than continuously checking back to sites, RSS sends any new information to you through web feeds.
Then, whenever new content is added to the sites, these feeds are automatically updated.
You choose the sites you're interested in and the RSS reader scans your list for any updates, and displays headline information in one easy location with links through to the source site.
This saves you valuable time and means you're always kept informed of new news.
The first thing to do is to choose an RSS reader. There are quite a few out there. Some are free. Some charge a fee. Popular ones include:
Once you have installed a reader you can check in any time you like. If you save the reader's URL into your favourites, you're just one click away from your RSS feed. If you want to add any feeds just click on RSS feed buttons (usually orange) on your chosen sites. When a window appears copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into your RSS reader.
